WBJEE Cut-off 2019|Factors, Calculation of Cut-off, Types and Important Points
West Bengal Joint
Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) will release the WBJEE Cut-off
2019 in the month of June, 2019. The cut-off will be made available
soon after the declaration of the Result. The minimum score required
by an aspirant to get admission in any of the participating
institutes under B.Tech course is known as WBJEE Cut-off of 2019. The
cut-off will contain minimum marks, opening and closing ranks for all
categories in different colleges for the admission. Applicants who
wish for admission must secure marks equal to or above the released
cut-off. The concerned authority will release WBJEE 2019 Cut-off
separately for all the participating institutes, B.Tech branches, and
category of the candidates. There are various factors which are
considered by the WBJEE Board for preparing the cut-off.
Candidates who
meet the WBJEE Cut-off 2019 will be further invited for the
Counselling process. Also, their chance of getting admission
increases. So, interested applicants are advised to obtain a rank
equal to or below the closing rank.
Factors
determining WBJEE Cut-off 2019
The exam
conducting body prepares the WBJEE Cut-off 2019 taking into
consideration various factors. These factors are used for determining
the Cut-off and are listed as follows:
• Total
number of applicants appearing for WBJEE 2019
• The
difficulty level of entrance examination
• Total
number of applicants applied for the exam
• Total
number of seat available
Calculation
of WBJEE Cut-off 2019 scores
The calculation
of WBJEE 2019 Cut-off can be done by adding the total number of
correct answers and then subtracting the total incorrect answers form
it. The calculation of the score varies according to each category
and this is illustrated below:
For Category 1:
• Only 1
option will be correct
• Each
question will be of 1 mark
• ¼ marks
will be deducted for each incorrect answer
For Category 2:
• Only 1
option will be correct
• Each
question will be of 2 marks
• ½ marks
will be deducted for every incorrect answer
For Category 3:
• 1 or more
than 1 options can be correct
• 2 marks
will be awarded for each correct answer
• Combination
of correct and incorrect answers will be considered as incorrect
• Partially
correct answer: total marks = 2 x (no. of correct options/total no.
of correct options)
Types
of WBJEE Cut-off 2019
There are 3 types
of WBJEE Cut-off 2019 and the same are mentioned below:
1. Eligibility
Cut-off
The minimum marks
required by an aspirant in the qualifying examination to apply for
WBJEE 2019. Candidates who have passed their class 12th or qualifying
examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and other major
subjects must have an aggregate of 45%. They must have secured at
least 30% in English separately.
2. Qualifying
Cut-off
The minimum marks
required to qualify the examination of WBJEE 2019.
3. Admission
Cut-off
Admission will be
offered by various participating institutes on the basis of WBJEE
2019 scores. The institutes will release the Cut-off of WBJEE 2019
branch-wise and category-wise.

There are number
of points related to WBJEE Cut-off 2019 and they are briefly
prescribed below:
• The
cut-off will be released soon after the announcement of Result by
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB).
